One side was overcooked and the other side was undercooked, so it would fall apart when I put it on a plate. So I put it back in the pan and cooked it well.

I joined Saturday English Class from 10:30. Because The citizen English conversation class ended at 10:30. Noriko sensei and Michael sensei taught two classes in a row. He corrected my May picture diary. There were 56 mistakes. There are fewer of them than before.

A convenience store in Wakkanai Station was collaborating with Mont-bell to sell original design T-shirts that were only available in Wakkanai Station. NORTHERNMOST POINT logo and a design of wind turbines lined up on a hill. I bought one.

I participated in a "First Time Bread Making" course held at Sarushima Community Center. I accidentally overslept, and because it was my first time there, it was hard to find the parking lot and which of the several buildings was the community center. I ended up being 10 minutes late.

The instructor was Ms, Nakajima Natsumi. Eight students gathered and took the course in 2groups of four. As I expected, I was the only male.
The assignment on the first day was to make small round bread. It was my first time kneading dough, but since I understood the process it was easier than I thought. Of course, this was because I followed what the instructor said step by step. I doubt I could have done it alone.
Anyway, I had fun and got to eat some delicious bread. Freshly baked bread is delicious. I recommend that you buy an electric bread maker before you buy bread.
I made a salad with tomatoes and ingen beans, shimeji mushrooms and pork tsukudani, granola yogurt, and cafe au lait for my evening meal. Of course, I also had a self made round bread.

June 24th. Tokiwa Park.
I woke up around 4:30 and took a walk around Asahikawa Station early in the morning. There was a flower park in front of the station, and several kinds of flowers were blooming attractively. I enjoyed it.

The hotel breakfast was buffet style. There wasn't a lot of variety of food, but everything was delicious. The other members went out to play golf after breakfast, but I wasn't going to play golf, so I took my time and ate my fill of breakfast. I tried almost all of the types. After that, I checked out later than everyone else and went sightseeing alone. I left my luggage at the hotel.

I went up to Wakkanai Park on a hill, but the slope was so steep that I also couldn't even climb it with the electric assist. I had no choice but to get off the bike and push it up the hill on foot.
I encountered some deer in the park, and I could see Wakkanai Port. Then I went around allmost of the piers. I played with Uminekos(Black-tailed Gull) for a while. I gradually closed the distance with them. It took me 30 minutes to close the gap to 10m. Then I photographed them.

June 17th. Sprayed the herbicide.
I got up early and sprayed the herbicide. I used glyphosate and 2-4-D today. Glyphosate works on all plants, but the Ohishiba will survive. I'll have to pull it out by hand later. 2-4-D works on broadleaf weeds in the grass, but too high a concentration will kill the grass, too. Too low a concentration is ineffective. I wish a good fit concentration, but difficult.

上田市中央1-6-26 tel 0268(27)3131 営業時間 9:00~18:30 定休日 日曜日 祭日

Along the way, I passed Ryuko-in Temple, where there are stone statues of Jizo Bodhisattva paired with the twelve zodiac animals, Shioda Shrine. We went as far as Chuzenji and then turned back.

June 11th. Kabuki and minced cutlets.
My wife made our breakfast. The three of us had it together.
My son went to the hospital in Saku City where he is currently undergoing training. He works at The hospital in Ueda City, but due to the nature of his training he has been seconded to the hospital in Saku City 4 days a week.
My wife went to Tokyo to see Kabuki with some friends who live in Ueda. It seems that my wife has made friends with the locals while living in Ueda City.

I spent the day alone looking after Miya-O and editing the photos I had taken. It was cloudy today, so there was no need to put the FJ in the shade.
I made sauce yakisoba for my son, who was coming home at 6:00 pm.
My son bought three minced cutlets at a delicatessen in Saku City. The owner of the delicatessen is still young. He realy loves his grandfather's delicatessen taest. Apparently he opened his own branch in Saku City, taking over from his grandfather's taste and technique, which has been in business for 70 years in Nara City, Nara Prefecture.

My wife came home at 7:30.

June 10th. It was cloudy with occasional rain.
Miya-O spends her time in my FJ. It was cloudy and there was no need to worry about the temperature rising inside my FJ. So, there was no need to move it to the shade, so I left it in the parking lot all day. However I went to make sure she was okay 3 times in a day to my FJ.
My wife went out alone in the morning, so I walked around Yanagimachi and other areas by myself. The lens I used for shooting today was the Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar 1:4.5 f=13.5cm No.10697.
I met my wife at around 1:00 pm at Kyoshun-an Kurotsubo (a soba restaurant renovated from an old house) and had soba. It was our first time there. The quality of the food was a little high. It would be convenient for those who want to enjoy other Japanese dishes besides soba. For those who just want to enjoy soba, other soba restaurants are more suitable.
Afterwards, we took a walk in Ueda Castle Ruins Park.
My wife made our evening meal.

June 9th. Katana-ya.
 My wife made our breakfast.
Miya-O spends her time in my FJ. I always park my FJ in a paid parking lot 100 meters away from my son's house. It is open-air and costs 500 yen a day. If it is good day, it rise hot. So today I moved it to the covered Aeon free parking lot 2.5 km away. Afterwards, my wife and I went for a walk in Ueda and had soba noodles for our lunch at our favorite soba restaurant Katana-ya.

For today's shoot, I used the Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar 1:4.5 f=13.5cm No.10697. This lens has a decent resolution and is easy to use. Yesterday, I used the FUJI PHOTO OPTICAL.CO. FUJINAR 1:4.5 f=18cm No.132814. This lens has poor resolution and no contrast. It's hard to use.

So, I changed my plans today. I bought a bento at a convenience store and headed to photograph the Kannon stone statue at Jizo Pass. I parked my FJ next to stone statue number 50 and had my lunch.

The Kannon stone statues are located approximately every 110 meters. First I took photos of the 50th Kannon stone statue. Next I walked down the hill and took photos of the four stone statues up to 46. Then I returned to my car. Next I walked up the hill and took photos of the four stone statues up to 54. June 6th. TAMRON ASPHERICAL LD 28-200mm 1:3.8-5.8 No. 805804.
I tested TAMRON ASPHERICAL LD 28-200mm 1:3.8-5.8 No. 805804 today. I bought 12 junk lenses in bulk on May 26, 2024. The acquisition cost per lens was 289 yen. This is one of them. I carried it around with me all day and took photos. First up was Miya-O, and black currants from my garden.
I went to Tsukuba and had soba at my favorite soba restaurant Kimura, and then walked around Doho Park.

Optical lenses are made up of spherical surfaces, but now some also have computer-designed aspheric surfaces to correct aberrations at the edges of the lens. The name of this Tamron lens includes the word "aspherical," which means that it uses aspherical lenses in some parts. But the results of the tests was bad, not encouraging. It is junk lens so it may be broken or misaligned. Or the design itself may be unsuccessful. Either way, I don't plan on continuing to use it.

June 5th. Free vegetables arrive one after another.
I made Ebideiko(shrimp and daikon) using the radish I received yesterday. My father-in-law loves shrimp and daikon, so I gave him half of them.
I made a soup with gyoza and some kinds of vegetables for my breakfast. I also had Ebideiko, glanora yogurt, and cafe au leit.

In the afternoon, I got a lot of free negi. I made beef bowl with lots of negi for my evening meal. I also had Ebideiko.

June 4th. My free time and my money.
I had the leftover tortillas from day before yesterday for my breakfast. I also had cucumber tomato salad, kiwi yogurt, and cafe au lait.
In the morning I pruned the rose bushes.
I got a lot of daikon radish from neighbor. So I made Sanratan soup with daikon and harusame for my lunch.

Before, I used to make my free time by spending my money. For example, I ask someone mow my lawn, or buy new things instead of repairing them myself.
Now, I use my free time to save my money. For example, I mow the lawn myself. Avoid eating out and cook myself at home. If something breaks, I try to fix it, like a vacuum cleaner, electric tools, my shoes, clock, and more.
Well, it's not so much that it takes away my free time, but rather that I get to prioritize what I want to do. Yes, that is a very happy thing.

I found this plant on the side of a road a few years ago and potted it up. I was growing it indoors. I didn't know its name until now. It recently flowered, so I looked it up with Google Lens and it turns out it's Mateba-Shii(Limonium edulis).

I made grilled eggplant, grilled peppers, stir-fried green onions, grilled Atsuage, tomato and cucumber salad, and iced cafe au lait for my evening meal.

June 3rd. I baked waffles.
I had the leftover tortillas from yesterday for my breakfast with granola yogurt and cafe au lait.
Miya-O was full. Her medicine time was over. She was relaxing in her wooden box. It was rainy.
I did some maintenance on my sub-PC. Its hard drive broken, so I replaced it and rebuilted the system. I couldn't install Windows 11, so it's still on Windows 10. I'm going to keep using it like this. I'm worried about security, so I'm going to disconnect it from the web, make it standalone, and use it to store photo files.

I baked waffles. I made the batter softer than last time. They came out well. It was about 4pm and I've had enough waffles, so I di didn't need the evening meal.

June 2nd. I was able to install Windows 11.
I sprinkled powdered cheese on atsuage(deep-fried tofu) and senbei(rice cracker) and baked them in the oven. The atsuage was good, but the senbei was no good.

I made tortilla with sweet potato, a few kinds vegetable and ham for my evening meal.

June 1st. Lots of bracken.
My wife harvested a lot of bracken in Ueda. It seems that there is a place on the Nagano university grounds in Ueda city where you can get permission to harvest bracken. It seems that she got 3 kilograms. She gave 1kg to her friend and left 1kg in Ueda. She processing it, and brought 1kg to Iwai.
I made soba noodles with lots of bracken, vegetables and a egg for my breakfast.
Miya-O seems to really like the wooden box. She goes in there after her breakfast. It's convenient for me too. Before, I had to go find Miya-O to give her medicine. There is no need for that now.

It was a little cold in the morning, but the weather improved dramatically and it became sunny and very hot.
